Hualcacocha Lagoon

We headed towards the Ulta Valley. First we pass through the city of Carhuaz to take the detour to the east and enter the Cordillera Blanca through the town called Shilla;

After registering at the control of the Huascarán National Park, our walk begins in the flat valley called Ulta.

The first part of the path is to cross the river and the wetlands until we find the zigzagging path. Later on we will walk next to leafy quenuales forests.

Getting to the Hualcacocha lagoon will take us approximately 3 hours. And we will see the snow-capped Hualcan north peak and Ulta. After staying for a prudent time and eating something from our box lunch, we will go down the same route to the transport to return to Huaraz.
