Lagoon that is located about 20 km east of Huaraz on the route to Llupa and Pitec. It is one of the most beautiful and most visited lagoons in this area. Its access, from Pítec, requires a steep walk that takes between 2 to 3 hours (3.5 km) to the lagoon where you can appreciate (1 hour) the turquoise water lagoon with impressive beauty.
The walk to Laguna Churup (4450 masl) is a very popular full day in the Cordillera Blanca and is located very close to Huaraz, but it is not as easy as it seems, so it is better to leave early (approx 7am), to walk a calm step and to be able to rest when it is needed.
Another interesting option is to stay camping next to the lagoon, as long as you have the time and the necessary equipment.
