Description
It is located 32 km east of Caraz (1 hour and 30 minutes by car), unpaved road and 101 km from Huaraz (3 hours). It can be accessed by taxi, private car or travel agency. Agencies do not provide service to this lagoon. Located at 4,185 meters above sea level, Parón has been described as the largest lagoon in the Cordillera Blanca. It is born from the thawing of the snow-capped mountains: Aguja, Caraz, Artesonraju, Pirámide Garchoso, Chacraraju, Pisco and Huandoy.

Tour Plan
We leave the city of Huaraz and head north through the Callejón de Huaylas. Upon arrival in Carhuaz, you will make a short stop to buy breakfast and some snacks for the road.
After a short time the route continues towards Caraz, during the tour we will be able to contemplate a panoramic view of the Cordillera Blanca.
Next, we head to Lake Parón, the main point of the day. You will be surprised by its turquoise blue color, surrounded by glacial peaks that rise to more than 6,000 meters. Lake Parón is one of the largest lakes in the Cordillera Blanca.
We will have the opportunity to walk towards the viewpoint that is located in the upper right part, a path not suitable for people who suffer from vertigo because the views obtained are impressive from a type of cliff.
The last stop will be in Caraz, where you can see the Plaza de Armas, the famous sweet shops of the city and other important places. Then you will return to your hotel in Huaraz.
